In The Curse of Monkey Island Guybrush finds himself at sea floating on a bumper car. He ends up at Plunder Island where Elaine and LeChuck are battling. The battle ends with LeChuck being killed, but of course that doesn't stop him. Afterwards, Guybrush proposes to Elaine with a big diamond ing he found in LeChuck treasure hold. Elaine accepts, but as soon as she puts on the ring Guybrush learns that it is cursed and Elaine turns into a gold statue. Guybrush has to find a way to undo the curse on Elaine, but at the same time he has to battle LeChuck, who has returned from the dead and wants to marry Elaine.

Ci troviamo ad assistere all'ennesimo tentativo del pirata zombie Le Chuck di conquistare la bella Elaine, il grande amore di Guybrush. Un vero gentiluomo, non c'è che dire, visto che la massima espressione del suo charme consiste nel prendere il fortino della ragazza a cannonate... Per fortuna arriva proprio il prode Guybrush, a bordo appunto dell'autoscontro, per cacciare Le Chuck: ma questo è solo l'inizio! Non dimenticate infatti che il ragazzo, nonostante la buona volontà, è un inguaribile maldestro, per cui quando decide di regalare uno strano anello a Elaine, potrebbero sorgerne delle spiacevoli complicazioni...del tipo che la rossa ragazza potrebbe rimanerne impietrita, ma non nel modo che Guybrush avrebbe voluto!
