Invasion of the Bee Girls (1973) d. Denis Sanders
"They'll Love The Very Life Out Of Your Body!"
"Ordinary housewives turn into ravishing creatures,"
"They'll Turn You on from Dusk to Dawn"
This is a classic '70's sexploitation bee-grade movie. Poorly filmed with some wooden acting it's nonetheless a bee-autiful example of the genre.
The opening scenes have a killer (bee) soundtrack, "la la la la la la lah" and a very Ed Woodish shot of a cop car racing to the scene. The basic premise is that there's a group (hive?) of Bee girls in a small town due to scientists meddling with things they don't understand. These bee-autiful girls need to "make love" to survive but in doing so kill their partner!
Nice moments include the nude trail-bike scene, the ugly guy at the town meeting saying "I'm not giving up sex for anyone" and the BIG sunglasses worn by the bee-girls.
It's a mystery why the initiation into bee-hood requires the bee-girls to wear short lab coats and not much else and why do they have to rub honey(?) on the nude inductee?
Some nudity and sexual violence.
