"Live at Pearl's" is a tape made at Pearl's Restaurant in Annapolis, Maryland, in the fall of 1994. Eva was playing there as a solo performer. On two occasions, her friend Bryan McCulley brought his video equipment, plugged it into Eva's sound board, and recorded the performance. On the first of these nights, the video part of his equipment malfunctioned and only the audio track was recorded. Bryan later transferred this to cassette. Eva's friend Maggie Haven remembers that Eva played this tape for her and the other artists when they were painting murals on the walls of an elementary school cafeteria!

After Eva's death, copies of this cassette tape circulated among her friends and family. Later, some of these tracks were included in the albums IMAGINE and AMERICAN TUNE.
