Works fine for me too. But that doesn't mean it works for everyone. I know folk who can no longer access kat.ph as well as Demonoid and a few others. The list of sites being blocked are growing every day.

Maybe Comcast's DNS server has permanently blocked me from accessing 1337x.org

Have you tried using hideipeasy or something similar. That may help you access 1337x.

Nope, I figure if I'd use a proxy, then the script on 1337x wouldn't function very well, and I won't be able to upload anything.

All, except Demonoid are working fine for me !
1337x pops right up, I have Comcast also and have not had any problems except them sending me a couple of those silly E-Mails ( You downloaded a copyrighted film you bad boy, now stop it or else ! ) LOL
